FAQs

Your most common repping questions, covered by our team.

I’m keen to work as many weeks as possible next season – what can you offer me?

For our resort reps, on average, you will work 3 weeks a season; however, for those keen to do more and work hard in resort there are plenty of opportunities to be allocated additional weeks.

Are you still hiring Event Assistants?

We hired separately for our event crew in the past, but we’ve now recombined the role with resort rep. If you have event experience, be sure to tell us in your application!

I have a full time job / university course. Will I still be able to join NUCO?

Yes, the vast majority of our resort teams have other commitments and work our peak weeks around these.

What’s included?

We pay a fixed, per-week subsistence rate that rises with experience. We also offer lift passes and equipment rental at a discounted rate should you wish to ski or snowboard, you can either opt in or opt out of these for the season. We also contribute to your travel to get from your place of origin to your start point be that an airport or a coach pick-up point. We strive to allocate you a starting point as close to where you live as possible and this is considered in our planning. We, of course, also pay for your travel from your start point to your allocated ski resort.

What are the minimum weeks resort reps must be available for?

As a minimum, we require you to be available for the following key weeks. Two key weeks during ‘Winter’ and one at ‘Easter’.

Key winter weeks

Friday 6th - Saturday 14th December 2024

Friday 13th - Saturday 21st December 2024

Friday 3rd - Saturday 11th January 2025

Key Easter weeks

Friday 21st - Saturday 29th March 2025

Friday 28th March - Saturday 5th April 2025

Friday 4th - Saturday 13th April 2025

The more of these key weeks you’re available for, the better for your application and hopeful allocation! If you can’t meet these minimum requirements, please get in touch to see if we can work anything out.

Is my attendance at the Training Weekend obligatory?

Yes. To maintain our high standards and to ensure all new Resort Reps have the best possible start, we require all new reps to attend the full weekend.

I’m on a snowsports committee travelling with NUCO, do I still need to apply and attend training weekend?

Yes. For the purpose of repping every application is treated equally so the usual deadlines and standards apply, and we expect the same commitment to training and role. However, we can offer a little flexibility on the minimum weeks required for committee members travelling with us.

I’ve been allocated two weeks in a row. Will I need to travel back to the UK and back out to resort again? Will both weeks be in the same resort?

Very unlikely. Usually, you won’t be required to travel back to the UK and will remain in resort / transfer to your second resort.

What uniform am I provided with?

Your uniform will depend on your role all reps will get a T-Shirt and Resort Reps will be sent a NUCO jacket, with the option to buy more NUCO stash.

Do you need to be able to speak French or Spanish?

Though a second language isn’t required to rep for NUCO, it is advantageous for your application and allocation.

I am a ski/board instructor. Can I rep for NUCO?

NUCO’s lessons and workshops are run by third-party suppliers. As a Resort Rep, you are not permitted to instruct or guide.

I’m not a very good skier/snowboarder; does that matter?

A basic understanding of the sport and industry is useful; however, NUCO doesn’t assess your ability to ski / board. It's actually a great way to learn and provided we have space (and your rota doesn't clash), you can join lessons for free.

Why do I have to pay to attend the Training Weekend?

We want to make the Training Weekend as accessible as possible, but unfortunately, it's not possible to offer it for free, so we ask for a contribution to the costs. We view it as a qualification that you require to be able to rep, just like how a snowboard instructor needs to be qualified for their work.

Can I request which resorts/groups I rep?

No. We will allocate you based on your location in the UK, skills, experience, suitability, resort requirements, etc., and as such, we don’t take requests from reps. It is also worth noting that to provide the best quality reps, we avoid allocating reps with potential distractions (i.e., their old groups, where their friends/ family are on holiday, etc.).

Is there anything else I need to succeed in my resort role?

You need a modern smartphone in good working condition that can install and run the apps we send you.

What about Brexit and repping?

We are working with partners and legal experts to ensure continued compliance with employment regulations post-Brexit. Currently, all we ask is that you hold a UK or EU passport.
